 Alicia Horton, a passionate film director and screenwriter currently navigating the awe-inspiring world of cinema as a Film major and Dramatic Writing minor at Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently developing a Pilot for a TV show and in preproduction for a short film this upcoming year. 

The Journey So Far

Rounding out my junior year, I've taken time to look back at how I fell into film. The essential click came in the form of writing. I realized that the film industry was a place where I could have a hand in all things creative that I loved—a place for my attention to detail. Since being in school, I've been able to learn and take on a role in every area of film. Whether that be coverage practice, overnight sets as a grip, or extensive editing classes. College has been my training ground as well as my community.

What Drives Me

For me, watching the magic of hard work unfold is the best moment. To see a story come together with actor and directors on set, or the final draft of a script being read aloud, or the final edit in the cutting room. I am captivated by the power of visual storytelling to inspire, challenge, and provoke thought. Each project is an opportunity to explore the human experience, capturing moments that resonate and linger in the mind and soul of every viewer
